BENTLY 135489-02 is a critical component of the Bently Nevada 3500 series mechanical protection system, fully integrated into the 3500/42M monitoring system. This module is an I/O module with internal safety barriers and internal terminals, designed specifically for connecting various vibration, displacement, and velocity sensors in hazardous areas (flammable and explosive environments). Its biggest technological highlight is the integration of internal barriers, which enables sensor signals to be safely and reliably transmitted to the 3500 system's monitor for analysis and processing while meeting explosion-proof regulations, without the need for additional external safety barriers, greatly simplifying the design and installation of hazardous area monitoring systems.

Core technical features:

In hazardous areas such as petrochemicals, chemicals, and coal mines where combustible gases or dust exist, sensor signal circuits must meet the requirements of Intrinsically Safe (IS) to prevent explosions caused by electrical energy. BENTLY 135489-02 integrates safety barriers directly into the module and has passed relevant intrinsic safety certifications before leaving the factory. The sensor signals in the hazardous area are directly connected to this module, and the built-in barrier circuit of the module will limit the electrical energy entering the hazardous side, ensuring that no ignition source is generated even under fault conditions.

This design brings multiple advantages:

Simplified system design: No need to separately calculate intrinsic safety circuit parameters, no need to purchase and install external safety barriers

Save cabinet space: reduces the occupation of external terminal blocks and isolators

Reduce maintenance costs: reduce wiring nodes, lower the risk of poor contact and malfunctions

Strong compliance: The intrinsic safety characteristics of the entire signal link are endorsed by modules, making safety auditing simpler

Flexible channel configuration and sensor compatibility:

BENTLY 135489-02 provides 4 independent channels and adopts a "2+2" hybrid configuration:

Channel 1-2: Supports displacement (eddy current probe) or acceleration sensor input, used to monitor parameters such as shaft relative vibration, axial displacement, eccentricity, etc

Channel 3-4: Supports Velomitor input for monitoring absolute vibration of bearing seats or housings

This configuration is very suitable for the actual needs on site - the key measuring points of a pump or compressor usually include shaft vibration (eddy current probe) and shell vibration (speedometer), and a 135489-02 module can meet basic monitoring needs with high cost-effectiveness. At the same time, the front end of the module is equipped with internal terminals, and all sensor cables can be directly wired inside the rack in a neat and standardized manner, avoiding the problems of messy external terminal blocks and poor contact.

Working principle and system integration:

In the 3500 system, BENTLY 135489-02 serves as the supporting I/O module for the 3500/42M monitor, responsible for signal access and pre conditioning. The workflow is as follows:

Internal terminals of sensor signal access module for hazardous areas

Built in safety barrier for energy limitation of signals (intrinsic safety isolation)

After signal conditioning, it is transmitted to the 3500/42M monitor through the backplane

The monitor completes signal analysis, alarm judgment, and outputs 4-20mA to other systems

This module is seamlessly compatible with the entire 3500 series of components, including the 3500/15 power module, 3500/22M communication gateway, 3500/32 relay module, etc.

application field:

BENTLY 135489-02 is designed specifically for industrial areas with explosive environments and is the standard choice for monitoring equipment status in hazardous areas

Oil and gas: vibration/displacement monitoring of refinery hydrogenation feed pumps, circulating hydrogen compressors, and natural gas compressor stations

Petrochemical industry: status monitoring of feed pumps, ethylene compressors, and transfer pump groups in chemical plant reactors

Coal Industry: Online Monitoring of Main Ventilation Fans and Gas Drainage Pumps in Coal Mines

Power industry: Vibration monitoring of gas turbines and steam turbine generators (near gas pipelines)

Offshore platforms: intrinsic safety monitoring of compressors and generator sets on offshore drilling platforms and FPSOs

Pharmaceutical/Food Processing: Monitoring of Rotating Equipment in Environments with Solvent Vapor or Combustible Dust

The Bently Nevada Seismoprobe velocity sensor system is designed to measure absolute (relative to free space) vibration of bearing housings, casings, or structures. The dual line system consists of transducers and appropriate cables.

The Seismoprobe series speed sensor adopts a dual line design, utilizes dynamic coil technology, and provides a voltage output proportional to the sensor vibration speed. Unlike solid-state speed sensors (which are inherent)

Acceleration sensors with embedded integrated electronic components have low sensitivity to impact or pulse excitation, and can be an ideal choice for certain applications. Additionally, as they do not require an external power source, they are convenient for portable measurement applications.

Note: For most installations, Bentley Nevada's Velomitor * speed sensor series uses solid-state technology to provide higher performance and durability for casing speed measurement applications.

Bently Nevada 200132 pressure sensor is designed for general purposes, with the help of our Trendmaster? Static pressure measurement results using Pro data acquisition hardware. It has an interface to connect to 200130 flexiTIM, featuring a strong stainless steel construction and the ability to be used in various pressure ranges.

Bently Nevada 200136 Seal Leakage Detection (SLD) Sensor

Bently Nevada 200136 SLD combines highly reliable proximity probe technology to detect changes in static pressure by observing a moving diaphragm to detect non pressure ends between single or double seals, or between front and back or double seals. The pressure change indicates a faulty seal. This sensor is specially designed to complement our 200135 TIM as a component of the Trendmaster Pro system, for continuous monitoring of operating pumps handling toxic or flammable materials in the chemical and hydrocarbon processing industries.

Bently Nevada Gas Turbine Combustion Instability Sensor

The Bently Nevada 3500/64M dynamic pressure monitor is specially designed to monitor combustion chamber pressure oscillations indicative of combustion instability ("buzzing") in gas turbines. By using our 350500 interface module, various pressure sensors * designed for these applications can be used in conjunction with the 3500/64M.

Note: GE provides 145664 pressure sensors and related extension cables for applications up to 500F (260C), which are typically sufficient for installing sensors away from the combustion chamber using isolated pipelines. When installing sensors directly on the combustion chamber, a higher temperature range is usually required, as well as various third-party sensors and cables that are compatible with both the 350500 charge amplifier and the 3500/64M monitor module.
