BENTLY135137-01 is a 4-channel position input/output module in the Bently Nevada 3500 series mechanical protection system, fully integrated into the 3500/45 monitoring system. This module is the "position monitoring core" of the 3500 monitoring system, responsible for receiving signals from various position sensors and converting them into digital signals for processing and analysis. In the protection system of large rotating machinery such as steam turbines, compressors, and generators, this position I/O module is an important component that ensures real-time monitoring and protection of key parameters such as axial displacement, differential expansion, and shell expansion.

Core functions and multi-channel monitoring:

BENTLY 135137-01 provides 4 independent channels, each of which can be flexibly configured and supports multiple sensor input types:

Eddy current sensor (Proximitor): used for monitoring radial vibration and axial displacement

Rotary Position Sensor (RPT): used for monitoring valve position and actuator position

DC/AC Linear Variable Differential Transformer (DC/AC LVDT): Used for high-precision displacement measurement

Rotary Potentiometer: used for angle and position monitoring

Channels can be programmed in pairs and can perform up to two different monitoring functions simultaneously, greatly enhancing the flexibility and application scope of the module.

Alarm protection mechanism:

The core value of this module lies in its real-time alarm protection capability. By continuously comparing the monitoring parameters with the user's preset alarm values (Alert) and hazard values (Danger), once the monitoring value exceeds the limit, the module will immediately trigger an alarm, drive the relay output, and achieve protection shutdown or sound and light alarm.

The module is equipped with high-precision signal processing algorithms that perform digital signal processing such as filtering, amplification, and calibration to ensure measurement accuracy and reliability. The alarm set points and monitoring parameters can be programmed and configured through the 3500 configuration software to meet the personalized protection needs of different devices.

Typical monitoring applications:

BENTLY 135137-01 supports monitoring of the following key mechanical parameters:

Thrust Position: Monitor the axial movement of the rotor relative to the cylinder to prevent friction between moving and stationary components

Differential Expansion: Monitor the length difference between the rotor and cylinder due to different coefficients of thermal expansion, to prevent collisions during unit start-up or variable operating conditions

Case Expansion: Monitor the thermal expansion of the casing and evaluate the operating status of the unit

Eccentricity: Monitoring the bending state of the rotor, mainly used for protection during the start stop phase of the unit

Radial Vibration: Monitor the vibration amplitude of the rotor inside the bearing and evaluate the balance state of the bearing and rotor

application field:

BENTLY 135137-01 position I/O module is widely used in industrial fields that require the highest level of mechanical protection:

Power industry: monitoring of axial displacement, differential expansion, and shell expansion of steam turbines, gas turbines, and generators

Oil and gas: position monitoring and interlocking protection of compressor units and pump groups

Chemical industry: monitoring the position and status of key equipment such as reactors and mixers

Metallurgical industry: position monitoring of heavy equipment such as rolling mill main motors and fans

Aerospace: Position Control and Monitoring of Engines and Moving Parts

In the input sampling stage, the PLC sequentially reads in all input states and data in a scanning manner, and stores them in the corresponding units in the I/O mapping area. After the input sampling is completed, it enters the user program execution and output refresh phase. In these two stages, even if the input state and data change, the state and data of the corresponding unit in the I/O mapping area will not change. Therefore, if the input is a pulse signal, the width of the pulse signal must be greater than one scanning period to ensure that the input can be read in under any circumstances. F8652X-HIMA Analog Output Module E

PLC adopts the working mode of "sequential scanning, continuous cycle": ⑴ During each scanning process, input signals are collected centrally, and output signals are refreshed centrally; ⑵ During the input refresh process, when the input port is closed and the program is in the execution phase, the input port has a new state that cannot be read in. The new state is only read in during the next scan of the program; A scanning cycle is divided into input sampling, program execution, and output refresh; The content of the component mapping register changes with the execution of the program. The length of the scanning cycle is determined by three factors: ① the speed at which the CPU executes instructions; ② Refers to the time it occupies; ③ The number of instructions and the scanning speed of PLCs nowadays are very fast. Due to the use of centralized sampling and output, there is a phenomenon of input/output lag, that is, input/output response delay.

The PLC initially developed and produced was mainly used to replace traditional control devices composed of relay contactors, but their operating modes are different:

(1) The relay control device adopts a hard logic parallel operation mode, that is, if the coil of this relay is powered on or off, all contacts of the relay (including its normally open or normally closed contacts) will immediately act simultaneously at any position on the relay control circuit.

(2) The CPU of the PLC uses sequential logic to scan the running mode of the user program, that is, if an output coil or logic coil is turned on or off, all contacts of the coil (including its normally open or normally closed contacts) will not immediately act and must wait until the contact is scanned before acting.

In order to eliminate the differences caused by different operating modes between the two, considering that the action time of various contacts of relay control devices is generally over 100ms, while the time for PLC to scan user programs is generally less than 100ms, PLC adopts a different operating mode from general microcomputers - scanning technology. In situations where I/O response requirements are not high, there is no significant difference in the processing results between PLC and relay control devices.

1. After the PLC is put into operation, the scanning technology generally consists of three stages: input sampling, user program execution, and output refresh. Completing the above three stages is called a scanning cycle. During the entire operation, the CPU of the PLC repeatedly executes the above three stages at a certain scanning speed.
