As a global benchmark factory for Volvo, the S90 model produced at the Volvo Daqing factory uses a large amount of ultra-high strength boron steel materials, and aluminum materials in many places to ensure the lightweight of the entire vehicle. In Volvo's globally standardized modern welding workshop, more than 200 ABB robots are used, widely used in side panel lines, main lines, door lines, roof lines, fender lines, adjustment lines, involving handling, spot welding, self piercing riveting, laser welding, edge rolling, adhesive coating and other applications. The main line also uses ABB's advanced body assembly positioning solution GateFramer, which meets Volvo's high standards and strict requirements. The S90 has a total of 5789 welding points, of which over 4000 are automatically completed by robots, with an automation rate of 70%.

Volvo also uses ABB robot safety software SafeMove on the fender and roof lines, achieving human-machine collaboration, avoiding unnecessary robot downtime, and improving production efficiency.
